Turns out, raw horse meat isn't too bad, though I would say it's an acquired taste and I'm still in the process of acquiring it (this was my second time to partake -- thanks to Couch-friend JRS who brought back a canned version of it from Mongolia a decade or so ago). The first pic shows the six slices of meat that we shared amongst five of us. Second pic is evidence of my consumption (scarily, my face is remarkably horse-like in that photo). Next two pics show trip-friend Meg eating the basashi, then her less-than-enthusiastic reaction. And finally, a photo of that last piece of meat, right before I scarfed it down, thus being the only person in our group to eat two pieces... not that it was a contest or anything -- but if it had been, I would have won.
