Later today we start the journey to Arao, a city in the southeast of Japan on the island of Kyushu where I'll spend the next week, including a home-stay next Saturday and Sunday. I'm mildly excited to be going to Arao -- Tokyo hasn't felt nearly as welcoming as Seoul, so seeing another part of Japan is spurring less inner-reluctance than normal for my "travel-is-trauma" personality -- but the profoundly irksome thing about being sent to Arao is that our internet access there will be severely limited.
In fact I'll probably be lucky if I can get online at all and when I do it is likely to be for short periods of time, so I'm giving this offline blog-writer a try, since some error in ecto seemed to prevent uploading. Hopefully this will work better.
PS: Even if I do have some access to the Internet, responding to comments unfortunately takes quite a long time, so I may be not be doing as much of that as I'd like.
